By Aisza Wilde In General Posted November 9, 2017

Ongoing Impacts:

Work on sewer connections and roadway restoration is continuing on the south side of 7000 South between 3200 West and 2700 West.  7000 South will continue to be closed to eastbound traffic between 3200 West and 2700 West through Tuesday, Nov. 14.

This closure will allow construction crews to complete critical sewer line work in this area as quickly
as possible. It will also provide the safest traffic configuration for both construction crews and the
traveling public. Click here for more information and details.

Upcoming Impacts:

Starting Wednesday, Nov. 8 through Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2700 West will be closed to through northbound traffic at 7000 South.  Southbound traffic on 2700 West will be restricted to turns only.  This is to accommodate sewer line work in the intersection.

Construction schedules are subject to change due to utility, material, weather and equipment delays.

For your safety and the safety of construction crews, please obey all construction signage and flag operators.

Project Overview

The City of West Jordan is upgrading storm drain, sewer, and water systems along 7000 South between 1300 West and 3200 West.  Work includes removing and replacing pipelines, installing box culvert canal sections, removing and replacing old utility services, as well as milling and overlaying a new roadway surface.  Work takes place Monday-Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., with occasional night work. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction in work zones. Left turns from 7000 South may also be restricted. Traffic congestion and delays are expected. Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.

When the project is complete, residents can expect improved utility service, improved roadway drainage, and a smoother, safer commute.
