Our Chamber members have an incredible amount of knowledge to share. You solve problems, answer questions, and help people make better decisions every day. That expertise could become a workshop, a Lunch & Learn, or a speaking opportunity, and a meaningful part of how you market your business.

Teaching gives people a chance to experience how you think, how you help, and what it might be like to work with you. It can build visibility, credibility, and trust in a way that’s difficult to create through social media alone.

That’s why we created “So You Want to Teach at the Chamber?”

We want to help our members turn what they know into something valuable for an audience. We also want to make our expectations clear for anyone interested in teaching through the Chamber.

When we invite people to a workshop, we’re asking them to invest their time and trust our recommendation. We take that seriously. They should leave with useful knowledge, practical next steps, or a clearer understanding of a problem they’re facing.

A Chamber workshop needs to deliver value on its own. Attendees should never have to purchase something to receive the help the session promised.

That doesn’t mean a presenter can’t introduce their business or offer a next step. It means the teaching comes first, and any invitation to work together should feel relevant and respectful. We want people to choose to learn more because you’ve helped them.

For this Lunch & Learn, we’ve brought together three event organizers who have selected speakers, hosted events, and presented themselves. Each brings a different perspective:

Myhriah Young: You Are Your Best Promotor
How to help promote your workshop and bring people into the room.

April Hiatt: Adding Value That the Audience Wants
How to shape your expertise into teaching that serves the people attending.

Jeana Nunez: Deliver a CTA That Doesn’t Feel Salesy
How to offer a clear next step without turning your presentation into a sales pitch.

You don’t need to be a polished professional speaker to have something worth teaching. This workshop is designed to help you start, or improve what you’re already doing.

If you’d like to speak or teach at the Chamber in the near future, we strongly encourage you to attend. We’re also asking our board members to participate so they understand what we’re looking for when recommending speakers.

We believe this training is important enough to make it an ongoing resource for our members. We’ll record the live workshop and add it here, with member-only access through our Member Resources and the “Share Your Expertise” section of the West Jordan Marketing Journey.

Our goal is to offer practical, affordable education that helps our members create another way to be seen, share their expertise, and build relationships through useful work.
